OUR STORY, MISSION AND TEAM

About UCan2

DANCE SCHOOL FOR ALL LEVELS

We established the UCan2 Dance Studio in 1993, with a dream and belief that everyone can learn to dance with the right teaching. That's where the dance school's name came from - You Can Too!

To provide dancers with additional stimulation, we introduced the Medal programme in 1995, and today there are medal tests for everyone who wishes to take part; from beginners to advanced level students, from social tests to Oscars. The UCan2 Dance Studio has amongst the highest level of entries for medal tests in New Zealand, and a history of excellent results.

Since 1998, when UCan2 students entered the New Zealand National Championships for the first time and won their first NZ titles, UCan2 couples have won in excess of 100 NZ titles (including every 'A' grade title available in New Zealand), well over 100 Australian, Australasian and South Pacific titles and have represented New Zealand at world events in Japan, Moscow, Finland, Czech Republic, Germany, Macau, Lithuania, Austria, and Latvia. They are committed to training their competitive dancers to the world level and encourage their participation in as many international events as possible.

While we are very proud of the competition's successes, we take just as much delight in seeing our teaching systems assist thousands of people to achieve their dancing goals; from just-at-school to pension ages, from beginners to experienced dancers. We have a strong emphasis on fun with the friendly atmosphere, the latest music from around the world, and our custom-built studios, all adding to the experience.

Our studio was purpose-built in 1998. Built by dancers, for dancers - even the man who turned up to lay the asphalt for the car park was an ex-student!

We have an impressive main studio (300 square metres) with doors opening onto decks on two sides. The floor was specially engineered and is very well sprung.

There is also a smaller studio - perfect for taking small classes, small group private lessons, wedding lessons, etc.

There is plenty of parking, both on-site and street parking.
